You all know Finnabair, well you should if you are participating in a mixed media world. She has her new products out again, and absolutely had to try a couple. Rust pastes are fun! I got all the three sets. Paper paste & Plaster paste look very promising too undeniably but I didn't use those on my following room decor piece. I will get to them soon enough.
This project started all with a wooden frame. Luckily I had sufficient amount of bottle caps and of course I stuck them on to that frame for further charm. From there you could just go wild with Rust pastes (I did gesso the frame beforehand) like I did. I mainly used the Metal Rust Set but I might of borrowed a bit from Finnabair's older Rust paste set too because that one is more brownish colour which I needed. I used Tim Holtz Alcohol ink - Rust also as the rust colour achieved on the frame still lacked that depth I set my heart on. I think I also added a touch of Viva Decor Rusty Patina for a slight sparkle. Small amounts of acrylic paints too & hammered down the bottle caps to make it even more distressed. Now three of my airplants have a place to be!
Chicken wire as I call it, is handy to own to feed a great number of ideas. I have 5 metres of it, I won't even imagine to start keeping birds in my back garden so I might as well put that to other uses and I did.
I dug out from the 'bag of everything' this fabulous retro themed fabric to act as a background.
This suede leather lace is easy to open to treat the plants with water and to put them back afterwards.
And so I haven't added my projects to any challenges for ages too which I loved doing, making a break and will take part in Country View Challenge February - Anything But Cute
All the best,
